Welcome to “Small Frames, Big Stories – Framing Inclusion”
Small Frames, Big Stories – Framing Inclusion is a training course that equips youth workers and youth leaders with practical film-based tools to work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through visual storytelling.
Objectives of the training course
Empower youth workers and youth leaders with practical film-based methods for inclusion-focused youth work.
Strengthen the role of film as a non-formal education tool for inclusion, emotional expression, empathy-building, and mental well-being.
Place inclusion, participation, and mental health at the centre of practice using creative and accessible audiovisual tools.
Build a network of multiplier agents who can transfer film education methods to their local youth work contexts.
How we will achieve this
We will work through non-formal learning and hands-on practice by combining:
Film-making activities such as animation, pixelation, optical toys, and basic storytelling,
Film viewing and guided discussion methods,
with special attention to using film to address sensitive or difficult topics indirectly through stories and shared experiences.
Who is this for?
We are looking for youth workers / youth leaders who:
Are 18+, have good English, and can commit to all sessions,
Are already involved in youth work and willing to share the learning back home,
Will run a local workshop using the methods learned after returning.
